| This course is designed for doctors, registered nurses and others who work, or intend to work, in the medical sector to answer the growing demand for relevant knowledge of Spanish amongst doctors, nurses and other healthcare workers. It is oriented towards improving students basic vocabulary related to healthcare, so that they can communicate respectfully and effectively with Spanish speaking colleagues, patients and their families in the course of their daily work.
The lessons will be both theoretical and practical, making special emphasis on communication. With the purpose in mind to make the classes as realistic as possible, students will realize workshop, simulations and role playing exercises, they'll read medical texts and complete medical documents.
Special attention will be given to cultural differences including information on subjects such as health, illness, family issues, etc. and how they are dealt with by the Latin Community.
In addition to the topics included in the course program, teachers and students may propose topics to discuss in class, for example: medical and nursing studies in Argentina, and healthcare techniques, private healthcare and hospitals in Argentina.
For the medical Spanish course a knowledge of basic Spanish is required. If you have trouble understanding the lessons, you can solicit individual lessons (not included in the price).
The program can also includes an internship at a hospital.
